No denying it…today’s church and many of the churches that compromise it have allowed us and our peers to fall through the cracks.  Add to that the troubling level of naivete many within the church (and those churches) have in regards to the methods that would actually engage us and its no shocker that we and our friends question if whether or not spirituality even has a place in the 3rd millennium.  Of course this cynical trend is also fueled by stuff on our side of the fence as well.  The insanity of our schedules for instance… given how busy we are with multiple jobs &/or classes &/or relationships many in our generation frankly could care less.  How could we possibly fit “one more thing” in at this time?  Maybe after we marry, have kids and settle down we can work on our journey of faith again?

We get this @ The Well…we get you and your friends.  We realize that the last thing you need is another rule, regulation or ritual to clutter your life.  But we also believe that within every human soul…even stressed out one’s buzzing with hormones…have a divine curiosity to know why we are even here or if there is a reason at all.  There’s something in each of us that tells us there;’s something more, something bigger and that perhaps it’s only as we live for something more than ourselves that we can find purpose and peace for our souls.

To this end some college aged students @ The Well have sought and found enthusiastic support to launch a new ministry for us, for you and for our friends.  Our times together may not answer all your questions, in fact, our discussions are likely to raise more questions than they answer.  But you will find relationships with others, like you, who are searching and seeking to know God and this “better way” of living life that His Son, Jesus, spoke so much about.  Together, we can wrestle with His words, His life even as we support each other as we wrestle with the unique challenges this stage of life throws at us.  We are convinced that as we do, together through God’s grace we will not simply survive but thrive through this stage of life.

Our College Ministry is an open group that meets every Thursday evening at 9:30 pm at the Jacob’s Well ministry campus. The purpose of these gatherings are to foster and challenge each other in our pursuit for a faith that is real as we develop peer support for one another spiritually, emotionally and physically through a discussion based study of His word together.
